Dr. Trevor York is originally from Maryland, but has lived in several areas of the East coast, including New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, New York, and Alabama. Dr. York earned his medical degree with research honors from Jacobs School of Medicine, University at Buffalo and undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Communication Arts from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. Dr. York completed his adult psychiatry training at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Dr. York is currently completing his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at Children’s National Medical Center – George Washington University. Dr. York over the course of his studies and training has developed a deep passion caring for those suffering from psychiatric illness and the intricate psychosocial determinants of health influencing their wellness as well as treatment success. Dr. York has done extensive research on the social determinants of health for patients suffering from chronic kidney disease and assessing global functioning in patients suffering from mental illness. Dr. York has developed a great deal of interest in unpacking cultural barriers of accessing psychiatric health care.
